Whereas the University of Hong Kong (in this order called
"the University") is established and incorporated under the
University Ordinance,1911, (in this Order called "the Ordinance")
of the Colony of Hong Kong (in this Order called "the Colony")
and the University was governed by a Chancellor, Court, Council
and Senate whose powers were prescribed by the Ordinance and

the Statutes set out originally in the Schedule to the Ordinance
and now as amended in the Appendix to the Order of the Governor
of the Colony in Council dated the 17th August, 1939, and
incorporated in the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition):

And whereas circumstances have arisen in the Colony by
reason of which the Chancellor, Court, Council and Senate are
unable to exercise the functions vested in them by the
Ordinance and the Statutes:

And whereas it is expedient that a Committee should be
appointed to exercise certain of the powers given to the
Chancellor and the Senate under the Ordinance and the Statutes:
Now, therefore, His Majesty, in exercise of all powers
enabling him in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice
of the Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as
follows:·

This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong University
(Medical Degrees) Order in Council,1945.
2.1) As from the date of this Order there shall be constituted

the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto
